According to the latest US Census 2020 (and other research sources): 

• California's 65+ population makes up 14.8% (5,851657) of the total state population.

• Riverside County has 340,575 seniors 65+ years old.

• Palm Desert's senior population makes up 33.7% of the total city population.

• Palm Desert has over 17,856 seniors 65+ years old.

• Palm Springs has over 12,797 seniors 65+ years old.

• Starting in January 2011, the first baby boomers reached age 65.

• Each and every day 10,000 baby boomers turn 65.  This trend will continue for the next 19 years!
